The Alaska 59s will become the 24th—and final—team in The Chill when they take the ice in the Summit Division beginning January 2027. We are assembling a select roster of experienced A-level players who want competitive hockey, premium gear and the opportunity to become part of a team built around Alaska history.

The Alaska 59s offer an unusually accessible way for qualified A/B-level players to join The Chill’s highest division for the Winter–Spring. Play begins in January 2027, but this is not a stripped-down half-season experience. The 59s receive the full treatment: a carefully developed team identity, two professionally produced jerseys, meaningful Summit Division competition, outdoor hockey and guaranteed playoff games. This may be a short season.
It will not feel like a small one.

The promotional price is available to eligible A/B-level players who register by October 15.
Roster space is limited. After that the session fee goes up to $590.
WHY THE 59s? ALASKA HISTORY, BUILT INTO THE IDENTITY
On January 3, 1959, Alaska officially became the 49th state. The Alaska 59s take their name from that defining year and draw their identity from the optimism, determination and unmistakable character of statehood-era Alaska.
The team’s navy, powder-blue, cream and old-gold palette gives classic mid-century hockey style an Alaska treatment. The statehood star represents a new beginning. The 1959 shoulder patch anchors the team to its history. Every element was designed to feel established, authentic and distinctly ours. The 59s are not named for a fictional animal, distant city or borrowed tradition. They are named for an Alaska moment.

Decades later, those words have new meaning.
The Alaska 59s are officially joining The Chill as its 24th and final franchise. The roster will bring together experienced players ready to compete in the Summit Division and establish an identity of their own. This is more than an additional team on the schedule. It is the completion of The Chill’s league structure—and the last opportunity for a new group of players to enter together as an original roster.
HISTORY YOU CAN WEAR PREMIUM DOWN TO THE LAST STITCH
The Alaska 59s jerseys were designed to look as though they could have existed for generations. Layered crest construction, dimensional stitching, textured lettering, custom striping and the gold statehood star give the uniforms a substantial, handcrafted appearance. The navy, cream and powder-blue set provides distinct looks while preserving one unified identity. These are not generic league jerseys with a logo dropped onto the chest. They are part of the Alaska 59s story.
Every registered player receives two professionally produced jerseys as part of the PFD Special package.
THE MIXER. HOCKEY THE ALASKA WAY
The Alaska 59s’ inaugural schedule includes an appearance in the Mixer Outdoor Classic.
Cold air. Open sky. Fresh ice. Teammates on the bench and the Alaska winter surrounding the rink. Outdoor hockey is not an add-on to the 59s story. It belongs there. The Classic will be one of 14 regular-season games, followed by three guaranteed Chugach Cup playoff games in April and May. Seventeen games, one memorable Alaska winter.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Alaska 59s are being assembled for experienced A/B-level players capable of competing successfully in The Chill’s Summit Division.
The opportunity is open to qualified players from across the Anchorage hockey community, including current Chill players interested in adding a second team.
Players should be prepared to:
Compete at the Summit Division level
Play responsible, team-oriented hockey
Support their teammates
Respect opponents and officials
Represent the Alaska 59s and The Chill positively
Commit to the Winter–Spring schedule beginning in January 2027
Registration is subject to division eligibility, roster fit and available space.
This is competitive adult hockey—but it is still The Chill.

THE FINAL FRANCHISE
The Chill began with one team in 2018.
The Alaska 59s will be number 24.
No additional teams are planned after this one.
That makes the 59s a genuine final opportunity: the last new identity, the last inaugural roster and the last group of players able to say they joined The Chill as the members of a brand-new franchise.
The history is rich.
The jerseys are exceptional.
The hockey will be competitive.
And the inaugural price may never be repeated.
